Stalls will be located along the Murrays Bay Sailing Club and Serengeti Car Park.

2018 MBW Birdman Stall Terms and Conditions
All stalls holders must tick the box on the stall application form to show you have read these Terms and Conditions and agree to comply.
Describe your goods correctly to avoid embarrassment on the day.
Set-up vehicle access is 8 - 10am only. All vehicles out before 10am. (Unless different times are shown)
You must park legally until your site access is available. No vehicle is to block any road or intersection.
No parking is provided. (Unless otherwise stated)
No vehicles are to be on site during the event.
Vehicles will not be allowed back on site until the event manager decides so. Pedestrian safety is paramount.
A 3m gazebo will not fit into a 2m site. Your neighbour can refuse you extra space.
Gazebos must be adequately anchored. Bring adequate weights; 100kg, 50kg upwind, 25kg per leg.
Instructions of the Birdman crew are to be followed at all times.
Food stalls must comply with all ACC health regulations. High risk foods must have at least one staff member with a current Food Handling Certificate (send us a copy).
Cancellation given more than two weeks prior: $20 administration fee deducted from stall refund.
Cancellation given in the last two weeks: no refund.
The organisers endeavour to make this event successful however stall fees are non-refundable should they have to cancel the event on the day due to factors outside their control.
Postponement/cancellation on the day of the event only.
Stall applications can be posted or emailed. Both the application and full fee are required for a booking
Stall payments are to be received by the closing of business day on the date advertised.
Consideration is to be given to the environment at all times.
Put your drink bottles and cans in our recycling bins provided, not the rubbish bins.
All stalls will take away all their waste; do not put it in our bins.
Food Stalls can only sell food in biodegradable containers, cups, lids, straws, and cutlery. No exceptions.
Food stalls will each provide one clean proper rubbish bin for the PUBLIC, in FRONT of your stall, with clean liner bags. You take these with you at the end of the day.
Event managers may exclude, without refund, any person or stall who fails to comply with these conditions.
How to Enter
You can also enter online. Entry Fee is $10 for individuals and free for team/school entries.
On the Day
Registration: Register on the 7th of April 2018 and collect your entry pack and your entry number from the Birdman Information stand situated at the Outram Hall Murrays Bay before 11 am on the day. Every person in the entry - even if they are not jumping must register on the Saturday 7th April 2018 and confirm they have read and signed a disclaimer form.
Safety Brief: 11.30 am Entrants to assemble outside the Outram Hall for safety brief
Pre-flight Parade: 12.30 am Birdman entrants get to fluff their feathers & strut their stuff along Beach Road, have a quick interview with the MC and line up for takeoff.
Start time: 1.00 pm Time for takeoff!!
Competitors are advised to bring a towel & warm clothing!
Judges will be looking for:
The Ultimate Flying Challenge - the longest distance able to fly and must be a flying contraption with wings
Fibers and Feathers - this must be constructed with natural materials and fibers. String and manmade fibers can hold it together.
The Crowd Favourite - can be any material but it is handmade
Most Creative Craft - can be any material but it is handmade
Best Team - Team is to consist of no more than 5 participants with only 3 allowed to jump. Every person in the entry, even if they are not jumping must register and sign a disclaimer form.
Battle of the Schools - Team is to consist of no more than 5 participants with only 3 allowed to jump. Every person in the entry, even if they are not jumping must register and sign a disclaimer form.
The Murrays Bay Birdman Festival or their judges reserve the right to alter/amend the Rules at any time prior to the competition commencing. The Judges’ decision will be final in relation to all matters.

To maximise your act we need good quality music. If you can’t access it let us know exactly what you want 2 weeks prior to the event and we may be able to assist you.
The best thing is to get your song off an application like Spotify and give it to us on memory stick. If you are having trouble doing this let us know 2 weeks out and we can help you
All crafts must be assembled before they are on the launch pad therefore they must take into account the access way to the launch pad
The dimensions of the Launch Platform are still to come - They are approximate and intended to aid competitors’ preparations. It is not a detailed specification. The dimensions may restrict some crafts so please check your specifications.
All contestants are strongly advised to take out personal accident insurance. 'Wings' may be clipped in extreme wind conditions
